Ireland 1961 Half Crown Mule
Interesing ‘mule’ variety. About 50,000 half crowns were struck with the reverse die used from 1928 to 1937. Can be identified using the following criteria:
- The OI of COROIN are close together on the mule.
- The PM below the rear hoof of the horse is largely to the left of the hoof on the mule.
- The d on the 2s6d has an open loop on the mule.
